| Job Information | LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE Based at Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro Temporary Full Time (1 FTE) (approximately 12 months) 3-North NSNU Bargaining Unit Competition Number CR-F12/11-119 Qualifications: Required • Current registration (or eligibility) with the college of Licensed Practical Nurses of Nova Scotia required. • Current acute general medical / surgical experience. • The ability to work independently and as an effective team member. • Demonstrated excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Current certification in BCLS. • Pharmacology. • Physical Assessment course. • Certification in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention or willingness to enroll. • Current competency in IV initiation or willingness to complete. • Current WHMIS certification. Preferred • Commitment to complete current competencies in nursing specialty. • Wound Care course. • Two years recent demonstrated continuing education. • Minimum of 1 – 2 years of medication administration.
