Integrating Energy Efficiency/Renewable Energy (EE/RE) Technologies into Infrastructure Projects - INAC's Clean Energy Initiative will provide funds for projects where an EE/RE component is added to a new or existing (through a retrofit) building in a community. Green Municipal Funds - Provides loans and grants, builds capacity, and shares knowledge to support municipal governments to become more environmentally, socially and economically sustainable.
Environmental Damages Fund - The Environmental Damages Fund (EDF) helps ensure polluters take responsibility for their actions. It gives courts a way to guarantee that the money from pollution penalties and settlements is directly invested to repair the actual harm done by the pollution.
Solar Water Heating Rebate - Conserve Nova Scotia provides a 15% rebate of the installed cost of a solar water heating system for residential, institutional, industrial or commercial use. Solar Air Heating Rebate - Conserve Nova Scotia provides a 15% rebate of the installed cost of a solar air heating system for residential, institutional, industrial or commercial use.
Green Infrastructure Fund - This fund is intended to focus on green priorities such as building transmission lines for clean hydro, upgrading wastewater treatment systems, and investing in wind and solar power. Sustainable energy infrastructure, such as modern energy transmission lines, will contribute to improved air quality and lower carbon emissions.
Habitat Conservation Fund - Assists the funding of programs for the protection and enhancement of wildlife habitats. The Fund is organized under four objectives: Enhancement, Acquisition, Research, and Education.
Species at Risk Conservation Fund - The Nova Scotia Species at Risk Conservation Fund was established under the Nova Scotia Endangered Species Act to assist the funding of projects related to species at risk.
Natural Gas Equipment Rebate Program - This program is in effect from April 1, 2009 and will expire on March 31, 2010. It was designed with advice from the Nova Scotia Natural Gas Association (NSNGA) and is administered by Heritage Gas. This rebate is available to residential and commercial businesses with consumption less than 20,000 GJs of natural gas annually.
Computational Fluid Dynamics Study Incentive - Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) studies go beyond conventional physical studies to analyze fluid flow and heat transfer in processes. Through computer modelling, CFD studies can be used to optimize system design and operation parameters for the efficient use of energy. Funding is available for up to 50 percent of the cost of a CFD study, to a maximum of $30,000.
Scientific Research and Experimental Development Program - A federal tax incentive program to encourage Canadian businesses of all sizes and in all sectors to conduct research and development (R&D) in Canada that will lead to new, improved, or technologically advanced products or processes.
Tax Incentives for Industry; Class 43.1, 43.2 and CRCE - For technical information on Class 43.1, 43.2 and CRCE, please order the free guide entitled Class 43.1 Technical Guide and Technical Guide to Canadian Renewable and Conservation Expenses (CRCE).
