Position Summary:  Reporting to the Program Leader, Mental Health / Addiction Services and working as a member of the Mental Health / Addiction Services; Adult Services Team, the Clinical Therapist is responsible for completing screening and comprehensive assessments; provision of individual  and  group  therapy;  facilitating  workshops/seminars;  collaborative  care  with  other team; and participation in clinical and administrative meetings.

 

Qualifications:

•    Master’s  level  degree  in  Social  Work,  Psychology,  Counseling,  Nursing  or  Occupational

Therapy required.

Duties:

Qualifications:

Applicants must have successfully completed grade 12 and Inter-Provincial Certificate of Qualification in the Truck and Transport Trade plus five (5) years of diversified mechanical experience is require. Provincial Certificates of Qualification in Heavy Duty Equipment and/or Air Conditioning Certification are assets. A knowledge of computer controlled diagnostic technology and computer competency are assets. The successful completion of training and knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act, First Aid and WHMIS would also be considered assets. Must demonstrate effective oral and written communications and the ability to work in a team environment. A valid Nova Scotia driver’s licence is required. A current Inter-Provincial Certificate of Qualification in Motor Vehicle Repair(Bus and Transport)Trade as well as a current Driver’s Abstract must accompany each application.

Duties:
Under the general direction of the Manager, Forest Inventory, the GIS Supervisor is responsible for the development and support of resource inventory information capture, storage, analysis and distribution for all lands and integrated resource management planning processes on a provincial scale, using the divisions geographic information system and related software. The analysis and databases provide critical data for province-wide wood supply forecasts, ecologically based forest management, wildlife management, and forest protection. S/he will supervise a team of eight (8) professional and technical staff assigned to GIS programming, production and development processes. As the data/service champion for the division, the supervisor must proactively communicate and coordinate all GIS activities between branch units to ensure processes are consistent and not duplicated. A key responsibility is the coordination and development of the provincial forest resources inventory, which is continuously updated over a ten year cycle, as part of the resource information required by clients in accordance with the Forest Act, Crown Lands Act, Wildlife Act, and the department Forest Strategy.

Qualifications:
A Bachelors Degree in a relevant Geomatics field plus 7 years related experience or graduation from an approved technical school in the field of geomatics plus a minimum of 10 years related experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience. Supervisory and project management experience is required with demonstrated success in leading teams using cooperative work approaches. Experience in using GIS systems and a sound knowledge of ArcGIS, ArcInfo workstation, ArcSDE, Arc GIS Server, and the ESRI suite of GIS software is required. Working knowledge of Data Base Management Systems (DBMS), such as Oracle and SQL Server operating systems is preferred. Candidates will demonstrate superior written and verbal communications skills to effectively consult and negotiate with industry, special interest groups and/or the public on program issues; implementation and development of policy; as well as, describe and document system requirements, procedures, and analyses; and, write manuals and guidelines. Must be able to demonstrate strong organizational skills to deal with multiple, on-going complex projects, shifting priorities and tight timelines. Excellent interpersonal skills are required with demonstrated ability to work collaborately and effectively in a team environment, and have the ability to find creative solutions to issues and problems. Travel will be required throughout the province, and may be required nationally to attend conferences/meetings.

Position Summary:  Reporting to the Director, Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services, the Manager of Laboratory Services is responsible for the day-to-day management of allocated financial, material and human resources while working collaboratively with the management team, pathologists, medical staff, laboratory staff and consumers to effectively manage the efficient delivery of laboratory services at all district sites.

 

Leading a dedicated front-line staff of technologists, assistants and clerical personnel, the Manager, Laboratory Services ensures the attainment of departmental goals and objectives, supporting those of the Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services Program and the Colchester East Hants Health Authority. The Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, directing and evaluating the many activities of the service necessary to ensure safe, high quality and optimal outcomes for those served.

 

Qualifications:

•    Medical Laboratory Technology diploma required; degree level preferred.

•      Current registration with the Canadian Society of Medical Laboratory Science and a current license with the Nova Scotia College of Medical Laboratory Technologists required.

•    Advanced Certification with the CSMLS considered an asset.

•      Minimum five (5) years recent experience in managing human, financial and material resources allocated to laboratory services required; experience in a unionized environment an asset.

•      Demonstrated ability to champion strategic directions, working with variety of internal and external

stakeholders and resulting in improved operations and an enhanced focus on patient safety and services is required.

General Medical Unit / Collaborative Emergency Center

Position Summary:

The RN is responsible for coordination and provision of the day-to-day patient care activities at the unit / service level.  While primarily responsible for the Emergency Department and Ambulatory care, the RN provides oversight to the inpatient unit and collaborates with all members of the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive quality client care.  During the overnight hours (2000 – 0800), the RN collaborates with a Paramedic and Oversight Physician to provide emergency care and or access to appropriate healthcare resources.

 

Qualifications: Required

•    Current registration (or eligibility) with the College of Registered Nurses of Nova Scotia.

•    Minimum of one (1) year emergency care experience.

•    Experience providing patient education to individuals and groups.

•    The ability to work independently and as an effective team member.

•    Current certification in BCLS, ACLS, CTAS and PALS.

Position  Summary:  Reporting  to  the  Manager,  Public  Health  Services,  the  Public  Health  Nurse  provides designated nursing services to the population particularly immunization of infants, youth and adults to protect maintain and promote the healthy / well-being of residents of NS.  In collaboration with other team members, the Public Health Nurse is a member of a multi-disciplinary team.

 

Qualifications Required:

•    Baccalaureate degree in Nursing with significant public health nursing content

•    Current registration or eligibility for registration with the College of Nurses of Nova Scotia required

•    Completion of certification or competency program in immunization.

•    Experience immunizing in large community clinics.

•    Minimum one year recent nursing experience in community or public health.

•    Strong organizational and prioritization skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.

•    A valid Nova Scotia Drivers License and access to a reliable vehicle

•    Current BCLS certification

 

Qualifications Preferred:
