Tatamagouche, NS – The Creamery Square Heritage Centre in Tatamagouche is getting national recognition.   The Canadian Museums Association has honoured the facility’s innovation with its Award for Outstanding Achievement in Facility Development and Design.

It’s a major coup for us,” says Creamery Square’s Project Manager Colin Fowlie.  “We’re honoured to have been chosen for such a prestigious award and invite potential visitors from Nova Scotia and across Canada to come and see us when we open our doors in the spring. If a national judging panel is pleased with Creamery Square, we’re certain the public will be as well.”

The judges in the selection process say the Tatamagouche Creamery Square Project is “nationally significant and exceeds the current standard of practice” among its peers from coast to coast.

The official award will be given out at the Canadian Museum Association’s National Conference and Celebration Banquet.  The event takes place May 12th in St. John’s, Newfoundland.

Creamery Square is a joint effort of The Colchester Regional Development Agency, The Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency, The Department of Canadian Heritage, The Nova Scotia Departments of Tourism Culture and Heritage, Economic and Rural Development, Service Nova Scotia, The Municipality of Colchester County and the Creamery Square Heritage Society.
