Atlantic Innovation Fund

A program of the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency, the Atlantic Innovation Fund (AIF) was launched in 2001. The AIF helps Atlantic Canadians compete in a global knowledge-based economy through the development of new ideas, products, businesses and markets.

AIF funding is provided to selected eligible projects through a series of competitive funding rounds. Under the first five rounds, a total of 191 projects have been approved, committing $512.5 million in AIF funding towards projects valued at over $1 billion.
